Jared Lewis has always had a passion for building. As a kid, you’d find him with a pencil tucked behind his ear and a toy drill in hand, dreaming up projects long before he ever set foot on a job site. What started as childhood curiosity turned into a lifelong calling—one that now brings high-quality renovations to families throughout Santa Cruz County.
With years of hands-on experience and a deep commitment to craftsmanship, Jared approaches every project with integrity and attention to detail. He and his team at Lewis Design Build Remodel combine industry expertise with cutting-edge technology to deliver results that go beyond expectations.
Jared’s dedication to his craft is deeply rooted in the values his mother instilled in him. She was always there, supporting him in every aspect of life, teaching him the importance of patience, integrity, and empathy. These lessons didn’t just shape the person he became—they formed the foundation of how he runs his business today. The culture of trust and mutual respect she fostered continues to shine through in the way Jared and his team interact with clients and trade partners, building relationships that last well beyond the final coat of paint.
Before launching his business, Jared served in the United States Marine Corps obtaining the rank of Sergeant. There he learned discipline, resilience, and leadership—qualities that still influence the way he runs his company. He was awarded with a Combat Action Ribbon and a Presidential Unit Citation for his service, experiences that have shaped his approach to teamwork and problem-solving.
After completing his military service in Iraq, Jared returned to his roots in home construction. In 2005, he earned his general contractor license and set out to build a company based on trust, quality, and innovation. Over the years, he has continued to expand his expertise, earning certifications in Lead Renovation from the EPA, Green Building from Build It Green, and advanced home efficiency training through PGE.
But behind every blueprint, every project, and every milestone, there has always been one constant—his wife, Katherine. She has been Jared’s rock, his sounding board, and his greatest supporter since day one. From helping shape the company’s vision to offering unwavering encouragement through the inevitable ups and downs of business ownership, Katherine has played an integral role in building Lewis Design Build Remodel into what it is today. Her insight, dedication, and belief in Jared’s dreams have been the foundation upon which their business has thrived.
More than just partners in business, Jared and Katherine are partners in life. Together, they have built a strong, loving family with their two amazing kids, Ashley and Jake. They understand the importance of home—not just as a structure, but as a place where families grow, create memories, and build their futures.
