As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary, we reflect with immense gratitude on the hundreds of homes we’ve had the privilege to transform and, more importantly, the lasting impact those spaces have had on the lives of the families who call them home. We’ve had the incredible privilege of building lasting relationships with so many of our clients, and we’ve been honored and privileged to give back to our community. The trust families in the Santa Cruz area have placed in us is humbling, and we'll be forever grateful.
Two decades in business is more than just a milestone; it’s a testament to the trust and integrity that have guided us from the beginning, our commitment to our clients, our community, and the place we’re proud to call home. We don't just transform homes; we create exceptional spaces that refine and improve the lives of those we serve. We absolutely love what we do, and it shows in every detail throughout the process and collaboration on every kitchen, bathroom, whole-home renovation, deck, and more.
Here’s to twenty years of bringing dreams to life, transforming homes, and making a lasting impact on the lives and community around us. We look forward to the next twenty; continuing to give back to deserving organizations and individuals, building meaningful relationships, and strengthening the community we’re proud to call home.
Thank you, Santa Cruz County, for twenty incredible years. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Lewis Design Build Remodel has become a trusted name across Santa Cruz County over the last two decades. For Founder Jared Lewis, his fascination with design, construction, and building at an early age was more than just a passing hobby. He began working in construction during the summers throughout high school to earn extra money. However, what began as a summer job quickly turned into a passion. Twenty years later, those early pursuits became the cornerstones of Lewis Design Build Remodel, and a life dedicated to his family, his country, his clients, and his community.
"I get to meet new people and build relationships with clients. I have the opportunity to work alongside incredibly talented trade partners who are masters of their craft. Construction is a profession that constantly challenges you to think, solve problems, and develop new skills. The most rewarding part is seeing the impact a remodel has on people's lives and the genuine improvements in how they live in their home.
I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on the journey that brought us here, and while Lewis Design Build Remodel has my name on it, I didn't build this company alone.
My wife, Katherine, has been my greatest supporter from the very beginning, even when there wasn’t much yet to believe in. Through late nights of work, weekends spent on job sites, missed family moments, and vacations interrupted by phone calls, Katherine and our kids have always stood beside me.
Their love, patience, sacrifice, and unwavering support have made these past 20 years possible. Everything we’ve accomplished as a company is as much a reflection of them as it is of me. I’m incredibly grateful for what we’ve built together and for the family that has supported me every step of the way.
— Jared
Before turning his passion for building into a career, Jared proudly served his country, joining the United States Marine Corps at the age of 19. Rising to the rank of Sergeant, his time in the Marines instilled a deep sense of discipline, leadership, integrity, and commitment to excellence, values that would later become the foundation of Lewis Design Build Remodel. As a proud veteran-owned company, Lewis Design Build Remodel carries that same honor and pride into everything they do.
Twenty years ago, Lewis Design Build Remodel was started with a clear mission: to build a company grounded in respect, integrity, craftsmanship, and service. With the unwavering support of his wife, Katherine, and their children, Jared has grown that vision into a company that believes success is measured not only by the homes it transforms, but also by the impact it makes within the community.
That commitment extends well beyond remodeling. Each year, Jared and Katherine award college scholarships to exceptional local high school students, helping support the next generation as they pursue their goals. They have also worked to recognize educators, staff, and administrators whose dedication, leadership, and commitment make a meaningful difference in the lives of students throughout the Santa Cruz community.
As Lewis Design Build Remodel enters its twenty-first year, the company continues to push the boundaries of craftsmanship, thoughtful design-build remodeling, customer service, and meticulous attention to detail. At the same time, Jared remains focused on finding new and meaningful ways to serve the communities that have supported the company for the past two decades.
At its core, Lewis Design Build Remodel was built on the belief that remodeling should be an inspiring and rewarding experience—one rooted in trust, collaboration, and the excitement of transforming a home into something truly special, one that allows homeowners to reimagine not just their homes, but the way they live within them. Because after twenty years, one thing remains unchanged: remodeling has never been just about transforming houses. It’s about creating spaces that improve everyday lives and giving back to the community we’re proud to call home.
