Student Scholarship

The Lewis Design Build Remodel (LDBR) Student Scholarship was started by the founder of LDBR, Jared Lewis, and his wife Kathy Lewis. Jared and Kathy are excited to offer $500 of financial assistance to two (2) deserving students to help them better prepare for college.

At LDBR, we believe that remodeling your home isn’t just about creating a beautiful space. Instead, remodeling your home is a reflection of our commitment to creativity, exceptional quality, attention to detail, and the belief that hard work should express your individuality. How Do I Apply?

1. Determination of eligibility. Any high school senior that lives and attends a high school within Santa Cruz County can submit an application.

2. Please complete the application form on this page. The application form is a brief questionnaire that will help determine eligibility and provide LDBR with a way to contact the winner.

3. Submit the application form and, provide an essay sharing why you feel you would be a deserving recipient of the LDBR Student Scholarship. The essay will be your chance to show us who you are and share your experiences. In addition to positivity, enthusiasm, and echoing the ideals of our brand, below are some of the things we would like to see included in your essay.

Who are you? How would you describe yourself to someone who has never met you?
Where are you planning on attending college, what are you planning on studying, why do you want to study in that field?
In what ways have you been able to give back to the community and how has that impacted who you are today?
What has been the most impactful event or experience in your life thus far and how has that helped to shape you?

Application Submission Period

Applications for the LDBR Student Scholarship will occur once a year. The application period will be over the course of 3 months, so be sure to get your application in during that time period. Applications will not be accepted outside of the window of time listed below:

Submissions for the scholarship will begin on February 1st and end on the last day of April each year. The application period for 2024 is now closed. Please check back in early 2025 for more information!
The winners will be selected during the last week in May and will be notified via email or phone.

Scholarship Amount

LDBR will award $500 of financial assistance to 2 deserving students. Financial assistance will be administered in the form of a check made out to the winner(s).
