Kitchen & Bathroom Remodel | Santa Cruz

This primary bathroom remodel was designed as a retreat, clean, warm, and intentionally uncluttered. The goal was simple: create a space that feels calm the moment you walk in, yet functions effortlessly for everyday life.

Natural light plays a starring role here. Strategically placed windows frame views of surrounding greenery while maintaining privacy, allowing the room to feel connected to nature without sacrificing comfort. Soft white walls and vertically stacked tile keep the palette light and timeless, while subtle texture adds depth without visual noise.

Warm wood cabinetry anchors the space and brings balance to the modern elements. The custom double vanity features clean lines, generous storage, and a furniture-like feel that keeps the room from feeling overly clinical. Integrated drawers help everything stay tucked away, because calm spaces start with less clutter.

Matte black fixtures were chosen for contrast and longevity, adding a quiet graphic element that feels modern but not trendy. Paired with sculptural vessel sinks and simple mirrors, the vanity area becomes both functional and refined.

In the bathing area, a freestanding tub sits within a curbless wet zone, creating a spa-like experience that’s easy to maintain and visually seamless. The terrazzo flooring continues through the space, reinforcing a sense of flow while providing durability for daily use. Thoughtful details, like recessed niches, floating shelves, and soft styling, add warmth without distraction.

This project is a reminder that luxury doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes it’s about restraint, natural materials, and spaces that simply feel good to be in.

We hired Jared Lewis Construction after a long process of contemplating a remodel of our 30 year old home. We decided to “go for it” and completely gut and reconfigure our kitchen, master bathroom, a guest bathroom, and a hallway area. We chose Jared Lewis after interviewing several potential contractors. Jared certainly exceeded our expectations in delivering high quality end results. Jared and his team’s professionalism took away most of the stress of such a large project. Jared’s communication skills are excellent. If he could not be onsite, he would always call to check in. Of course, with any project of this size there were some things that did not go as smoothly as we hoped, but Jared always stepped up to address any concerns that we had. There will always be issues with any large project, but the calm and attentive way that Jared handles them is what sets him apart. Jared claims to just execute the vision of the homeowner, or in our case our designer, Cyndi Mosher. However, he does much more than that. He came up with creative solutions such as vaulting our master bathroom ceiling in a much more dramatic way than our architect’s original plan called for. He also came up with a solution on how to frame in a Marvin Venting Picture Window that was a late addition to our plan, and it looks great! We have completed other remodels and felt that some of the contractors shortchanged us toward the end of the project, as they were anxious to get to their next job. This has not been the case with Jared. All punch list items were handled in a very timely fashion, and all the little extra things we wanted done were addressed. Jared says he wants to ensure the homeowner’s complete satisfaction, and he really means it! All in all, we could not be happier with the results and we highly recommend Jared for any project.
